Written for Robert McCurdy, professor of music at the University of Idaho's Lionel Hampton School of Music, "Night City: Music for the Imaginary Film" simulates a movie sound track. The listener hear the sounds of a walk down a busy street at night as he or she passes by night clubs and bars - the music of different styles of bands fading in and out.
