"Sonata for Marimba" was written for Ben Morrow, a student at the University of Idaho Lionel Hampton School of Music, and exists in many forms. It can work as a longer, unaccompanied piece or there are sections that could function as a shorter, unaccompanied marimba solo. The composition also exists under a pseudonym in a version with accompaniment for orchestra.
