Program Notes:	"Surprise, Pattern, Illusion" was inspired by writings about the prehistoric artwork found in the Lascaux Cave of southern France. It is meant to be a very theatrical piece and incorporates special lighting as well as amplified sound for specific instruments. It is referred to by Bukvich as "Visual Music". The writings that Dan used as inspiration for this piece were take from the book, "The Creative Explosion: An Inquiry into the Origins of Art and Religion" by John E. Pfeiffer, published by Harper & Row.
